Online play is basically the same as last year with Gamecast being the only difference. Gamecast allows you to watch games being played with people on your friends list or top players in the country. Now before you start getting too excited, you don’t actually watch the game, you just get a play by play similar to those from NFL.com involving NFL games. You’ll be able to see who has the ball, what the score is and where that person has the ball. A nice feature but in no way revolutionary. Online leagues are once again missing in the Madden world. With leagues being an option of NFL 2K5, you would think that EA could add this feature by now. Here’s hoping it’s in next year.

In Madden 2008, you will fear the "Purple People Eaters".
For the upcoming game next season, online leagues are a must. We have been craving these for years now, and since they’ve taken so long to put these together, I really want full stat tracking including league leaders & players of the week. As far as other features, I would love to see a fantasy draft incorporated for the leagues, allowing users to either pick every one of their players or simulating after a certain amount of picks.
Overall, this game is very solid. Sporting some of the best graphics in sports games today, Madden NFL ’08 also has one of the best gameplay engines out. They continue to refine and re work this engine from year to year so it’s only going to get better.
Whether you play the game sparingly for fun, or you’re a die hard Madden junky such as myself, this game is a perfect pick up for all the NFL lovers in the world.
