Update: It’s now been announced that the achievement consists of ALL game modes, not just the campaign itself. Horde, multiplayer, single and co-op campaign are all going to count towards your progress to the new Seriously. A tracker will pop up from time to time updating you on your progress for the desired achievement, but all we can say is it’s going to be a long trip to get it.
Ah, Seriously was such a popular achievement in Gears of War, and there are still a ton of gamers playing countless hours trying to achieve it still. Seriously had its up and downs, with quite a few of the players claiming it was bugged when it wasn’t given to them on their 10,000th kill. Epic released a statement on why this happens so often, but the achievement still stayed popular regardless.
Cliff Bleszinski released a bit of info at the X08 event in Canada recently, detailing the Seriously 2.0 achievement for Gears 2. In order to unlock Seriously 2.0, you’re going to have to net 100,000 kills. That’s not a typo, you will seriously need to get 100,000 kills in Gears of War 2 to unlock the achievement.
The achievement, however, will only be singleplayer and co-op campaign based and multiplayer will have no effect on unlocking it. It’s sad to see that the achievement isn’t multiplayer based anymore, but this is still going to be a ridiculously tough achievement to get, seriously.
